For businesses with a large amount of disparate content to serve either on the Internet, or internally on an Intranet, the Joomla Content Management System (CMS) provides an ideal publishing solution. This training course aims to provide delegates with all the skills they need to install, manage and maintain a site using the Joomla CMS. The course covers the following areas:
 
  • Installation of Joomla, the prerequisites for a successful install and what the different configuration options mean.
  • How Joomla content is structured.
  • The default modules and how to use them.
  • Creating sections, categories and articles.
  • Users and user permissions.
  • Front end and back end administration.
  • Creating menus and navigation.
  • Changing the appearance of sections.
  • Using the media manager.
  • Creating and altering site templates.
  • Installing extensions.
 
No previous experience with Joomla is required to attend this course, neither is any experience with HTML or web site construction. The course lasts 3 days during which delegates will get practical experience in building a website from sratch using the Joomla CMS.
